Occurring during the "Great Airship" wave of the late 1800s, the legend of a UFO crash and a dead alien have survived over a century of debate. Allegedly, the dead alien pilot is buried in the local cemetery. The story of the crash was related by local newspapers, the UPI, and AP. The city received "historical site" status because of the incident.
Brought to public knowledge by UFO investigator Leo Stringfield, from an account by Charlette Mann. Mann related the story of her grandfather Reverend William Huffman, who claimed to have been called to the scene of a crashed UFO with dead aliens in Missouri.

Shortly after the Japanese invaded Pearl Harbor, the city of Los Angeles was invaded by a flying object of unknown origin. U.S. military sent volley after volley of shells at the alleged flying saucer without damaging the intruder. Six people were killed during the attacks.

While searching for a missing troop transport near Yakima, Washington, pilot Kenneth Arnold got the surprise of his life. He spotted nine discs flying in formation. After he landed, a news conference was held in which Arnold called the unknowns flying saucers, the first time the phrase was used.

The most famous UFO case of all occurred near Corona, Mexico. Rancher Mac Brazel found strange crash debris on his morning rounds, and reported his find to local radio station. Soon, the military from Roswell AFB was involved, and issued a press statement that the Air Force had captured a UFO. This statement was soon recanted.

Kentucky Air National Guard Captain Thomas Mantell was piloting his F-51, when he received radio orders to check out a large, metallic disc which had been reported by citizens of the area, and clearly seen from the tower of Godman Air Force Base. After reporting that he was in pursuit of the object, radio contact was lost, and his plane soon crashed to the ground, killing Mantell.

Captain Clarence S. Chiles, and co-pilot John B. Whitted were piloting an Eastern Airlines DC-3, when their plane was approached by huge cigar-shaped UFO. The object barely missed colliding with the DC-3. The two men made one of the very first reports of a UFO bycommercial airline pilots.

In the skies above Fargo, North Dakota on October 1, 1948, Lieutenant George F. Gorman of the North Dakota Air National Guard had an experience he would never forget, a 27-minute dogfight with a UFO

Several glowing unknown objects appear over the Bentwaters-Woodbridge AFB. Military police investigate the objects. They see objects moving through the forest. One triangle UFO is seen on the ground. One officer actually touches the outside of the UFO, before it slowly moves away through the forest.
An extremely compelling UFO sighting was an event which took place in the Piney Woods of Texas, near the town of Huffman. On the chilly night of December 29, 1980, two women and one child encountered a craft of unknown origin, and all three suffered not only emotional trauma, but severe physical injury as well.
South American Dr. Enrique Botta would have a close encounter of the third kind when he entered a UFO sitting on the side of the road. Inside the craft, the ex-pilot found three dead aliens, and even touched one. When he went for help, by the time he returned, the object was gone.
A group of Texas Tech professors saw numerous groups of racing lights one night. The sighting was reported, and the local Air Force denied that any planes were flying that night. 18-year old Carl Hart Jr would take five photographs of the fast moving objects, which would become known as the Lubbock Lights.
UFOs buzzed the White House, the Capitol building, and the Pentagon. Seemingly the unknown objects were defying the very governmental agencies sworn to protect the United States from foreign powers. Washington National Airport and Andrews Air Force Base picked up a number of UFOs on their radar screens on July 19, 1952, beginning a wave of sightings still unexplained to this day. Numerous photographs were taken of the unknown objects.

George Gatay, who was foreman of an eight-man construction crew, was unexpectedly drawn away from his crew, feeling a sense of "peculiar drowsiness." A short distance from his construction site, Gatay was amazed to encounter a man standing on a slope, some 30 feet from him. The "man" was wearing an opaque glass helmet with a large visor. He was wearing gray coveralls, and short boots. He also held an object in his hand, which Gatay described as a weapon of some kind, like a rod. The humanoid was near a UFO.

No less than 8 official sightings, including policemen, would highlight a night of terror in a small Texas town. UFOs were flying, hovering, and even landing on the roads around Levelland. One of the best documented cases in UFO history.

Father William Gill, Anglican priest, would relate a series of remarkable sightings above his church. UFOs with occupants in the clouds who waved back at witnesses highlight this case. Called "one of the best" documented cases of a close encounter of the second kind by J. Allen Hynek.

The best known case of alien abduction. While driving home from vacation, Betty and husband Barney Hill would lose two hours of time during an alien encounter. They would undergo physical exams at the hands of their alien captors. This case was the subject of a book and a movie.

Policeman Lonnie Zamora would see an unusual object landed in the desert of New Mexico while racing to what he thought was an explosion. Two occupants of the craft were visible. Zamora could make out an insignia on the front of the craft before it flew away. Investigated by Dr. J. Allen Hynek.

A series of UFO sightings took place which gained vast media attention, and became the subject of the book, "Incident at Exeter," by John G. Fuller. The sensational happenings were also featured in a two-part article in "Look" magazine. Many eyewitness accounts by respected community members make this one of the best cases.

What exactly soared through the late afternoon skies of Canada, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania on December 5, 1965? Eye witnesses described the unknown object as a "fireball," but it seemed to be under some type of intelligent control, as it veered somewhat in Ohio toward the Quaker State. The fiery object crashed into a wooded area near Westmoreland County.
While prospecting for silver near Falcon Lake, Steven Michalak was astonished to see several strange objects in the sky. One hovered, and then landed. Michalak ventured close enough to touch the landed craft, and look inside. He was subsequently burned on the chest by an exhaust vent.

Eyewitnesses see several unknown objects in the sky, and soon they crash into the sea. Rescue workers, fearing a plane crash, rush to the area, only to find bright, yellow foam on the ocean. Several days of search find nothing. Investigators believe the object, still intact, has left the area.
Sixteen year old Ron Johnson was tending the family sheep when his attention was suddenly drawn to a mushroom-shaped UFO appearing in the night sky. The flying object, metallic with multi-colored lights, was hovering approximately 75 feet away from Ron among some trees. After the craft's disappearance, a strange, glowing ring was found where the object landed. This ring persisted for several years.

The strange case of nineteen-year-old Calvin Parker, and forty-two-year-old Charles Hickson actually began a day before their famous encounter. On October 10, 1973, fifteen different people, including two policemen, reported seeing a large, silver UFO slowly fly over a housing project in St. Tammany Parish, New Orleans, Louisiana. Only a scant 24 hours later, Hickson and Parker would have the scare of their lives; a frightening encounter with an eerie UFO, and occupants.

Investigation and regressive hypnosis tell a tale of alien abduction, complete with embarrassing medical procedures. One of the best documented cases of alien abduction.
The Iranian UFO chase is one of the premier UFO encounters in the history of the subject. A highly advanced vehicle, performing well beyond present-day capabilities, created fits for the American-equipped Iranian Air Force. Blackouts of the missile firing control panel, just before the pilot was about to launch his air-to-air missile, could be attributed to a mechanical fault seems beyond what sheer odds would allow.

While night fishing on the Allagash Waterway, four art student friends see a glowing object over the lake. The next thing they can remember is being back on shore, and missing time. Subsequent investigation will reveal an alien abduction complete with physical experimentation.

The Brazilian island of Colares would be invaded by UFOs of all shapes and sizes in 1977. The UFOs target citizens with an intense beam of light, knocking many to the ground. These individuals were rendered unconcious and awoke with anemia. The Air Force investigates and takes 5 hours of film, and many photographs, without giving an explanation.
Boats and aircraft found no trace of a 20-year old Australian pilot who disappeared with his plane after radioing that he was being chased by a UFO. Frederick Valentich was on a 125 mile training flight in his single engine Cessna 182 along the coast of Bass Strait when he told air traffic controllers in Melbourne that he was being buzzed by a UFO.

A man's attention is attracted by a slight noise, a sort of faint whistling. He sees a device in the air at the height of a big pine tree at the edge of the property. The device was coming lower toward the ground. He clearly sees the device resting on the ground. Right away it lifted off, still emitting a slight whistling sound. Reaching a point above the trees, it left at high speed toward the forest of Trans.
The Hudson Valley UFO account is made up of many sightings, all similar, and all pointing to one conclusion. There was something "unexplained" going on only an hour's drive north of New York City. The UFO lights were a brilliant red, green, and white. What was thestrange craft? This would be the question that many would try to answer.

UFO investigators from all over the world would descend on this peaceful community to try to solve the mystery of the Gulf Breeze UFOs.

In 1988, the United States Coast Guard has aclose encounter. They receive report of a large UFO hovering over the frozen Lake Erie. After a close observation, they see the object nearly on the ice, with smaller triangle UFOs coming to and fro around the large UFO. A true, unsolved mystery.

One of the most profound and well documented UFO waves. All of the reports related a large object flying at low altitude. The craft was of a flat, triangular shape, with lights underneath. This giant craft made not a sound as it slowly moved across the landscape of Belgium. There was free sharing of information as the Belgian populace tracked this craft as it moved from the town of Liege to the border of the Netherlands and Germany.

A cigar-shaped object with a row of brightly flashing lights along its length was observed over the Texas panhandle by the crew of a westward bound America West B-757 airliner on May 25, 1995. The case was thoroughly investigated by Walter N. Webb on behalf of the UFO Research Coalition, who interviewed the crew and air traffic controllers. Webb also obtained a copy of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) voice tapes of conversations between airplane and ground during the sighting.
Like a scene from a science fiction movie, a huge, circular object slowly moved over the city of Phoenix and surrounding areas. Numerous photographs, and an abundance of video film make this one of the best documented cases in UFO history. Numerous eye witness accounts describe a large, slow moving triangular shaped UFO.
