The USS Supply UFO Sighting of 1904

after ships commission 1902
There is little doubt that what is described as a remarkable meteor sighting, was in fact a remarkable UFO sighting witnessed by multiple crew members of the USS Supply while in the Pacific Ocean off San Francisco, California, USA

Three members of the crew of the USS Supply, at 6:10 a.m. local time, sighted an echelon formation (straight line) of three objects which appeared near the horizon below clouds, moving directly toward the ship. As they approached, the UFOs began soaring, rose above the cloud layer, and were observed climbing into space, still in echelon formation

The lead object was egg-shaped and about the size of six suns, and the other two were smaller and appeared to perfectly round. They remained visible to the men on board for more than 3 minutes. Of course we know today that meteors do not travel in a perfect formation, change course, altitude or speed and they certainly do not make circular maneuvers. These craft went below and above a stable cloud cover which is impossible to do unless they were intelligently controlled.

Statement from Captain Scofield
"Three objects appeared beneath the clouds, their color a rather bright red. As they approached the ship they appeared to soar, passing above the broken clouds. After rising above the clouds they appeared to be moving directly away from the earth. The largest had an apparent area of about six suns. It was egg-shaped, the larger end forward. The second was about twice the size of the sun, and the third, about the size of the sun. Their near approach to the surface appeared to be most remarkable. That they did come below the clouds and soar instead of continuing their southeasterly course is also curious. The lights were in sight for over two minutes and were carefully observed by three people whose accounts agree as to the details."

Side Note

Oddly enough William Elbridge Sewell, the 6th Governor of Guam was being transported back to the mainland United States on the USS Supply for medical treatment. He died en-route to the mainland on January 11, 1904 just prior to the UFO Sighting. There is no evidence that the death of William Sewell is connected to the UFO sighting but it certainly is coincidental.

Conclusion

We know today that the Wright Brothers were in the developmental stage of building the worlds first fixed wing aircraft. Therefore it would be highly unlikely if not impossible to say these were government military craft.

We also know today that meteors do not travel in a perfect formation, change course, altitude or speed and they certainly do not make circular maneuvers. These craft went below and above a stable cloud cover which is impossible to do unless they were intelligently controlled vehicles.
